2010 Murrieta's Well White Blend Livermore Valley 'The Spur' $20
I'm always concerned when I see kitchen sink white blends because they tend to be disjointed and raucous, especially when they have any kind of a sweet variety componentry. This one certainly qualifies in terms of composition:
Crystalline and inviting in the glass. The nose is alluring, too, with a surprise Rhone character that must be thanks to the Semillion. The palate delivers far more body than expected from this list of ingredients, ripe fresh fruit cup coming through. The mid-palate is far from serious, but it maintains a balance that makes this wine a treat, particularly for Thai food or any spicy dishes that normally have you reaching for beer.
