Maybe it's pro forma and maybe it's in response to the most recent post, but I received a very polite, yet direct, confirmation of my own application to the Symposium. In it was the following passage:
In re-reading the last post, one could easily argue that it sounds like an invite for anyone with an interest in wine and luxurious lodging. In fact, as the warning above clearly indicates, that is not the case.
My bad for misleading anyone.
"[We will ask applicants for] further documentation that they are indeed professional editorial wine writers, food-wine writers, travel-wine writers or editors. All attendees must have work already published in print or online and at least several paychecks for editorial type wine writing...As you may know we screen the attendance in general and the fellowship winners pretty strictly."
