An unexpected surprise in so many ways. Fair and light in both color and density, this wine moves around a globe with the ease of an athlete. White fruit and tree flowers share the aromatic package with stones and tension, but the taste is where anticipation turns to achievement. Lean and elegant, the acidity is somewhere in the neighborhood of Burgundy, with focus and precision. Nowhere to be found are cloying, ham-fisted cellar practices such as oak or thick dairy products. The result is a delight, and shocking at this price. A chardonnay I'll look forward to drinking again. 93 Points (Sample)
