2021 Esporao Monte Velho Blanco $12
From the geniuses at Portugal's Esporao Wine & Olive Oil comes your new favorite summer white. My first review of this wine was back in 2015 and since then it has only gotten better. Yet somehow manages to be produced at an incredibly accessible price point. Last summer it was our house wine, bought by the case. Year after year, I know I can count on bracing acidity framing clean, taut fruit with an undercurrent of minerality. Dry and light, it is far from insipid and virtually guaranteed to please everyone from the most casual to the most discriminating. A phenomenal feat at an outstanding price. Suggested retail is $12, though I've seen it as low as $7.99 (Sample) 93 points
